The Metropolitan area chapters of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc held a "One Kappa" event which served as a time of rededication, reverence, and recollection. The Metro-Chapters are comprised of the chapters which operate in and surround the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. Each year, a different chapter receives the honor and responsibility of leading the event. This year, Alexandria Fairfax was asked to take the lead. Elder Watson Diggs awardee, Brother Clarence Nelson chaired the event, Brother Charles Parker was his co-chair, and the master of Ceremonies was Brother Warren Green. The Metro-Chapters came together as One Kappa and supported the opportunity to remember, rejoice, and rededicate ourselves to the goals and principals of our fraternity. Over 500 brothers attended the event and in an unprecedented show of kappa compassion; the attendees contributed thousands of dollars on the spot in response to the disaster in Haiti as well as support for the Piney Woods School.
